In the beginning was curiosity: How do you get these 'Oval Link Earrings' from MARIA BLACK through pierced ears? The answer is sobering: Just like every other earring, because there is a small plug on the front part which you just plug through a hole on the back part to fix it. No witchcraft!

After the curiosity came the love (okay, I admit, it was already on board in the curiosity stadium). I like golden statement earrings a lot these days. I also find them very practical because they enhance even the simplest outfit in no time at all and - in the truest sense of the word - give it a little shine. You just feel more styled with big earrings.

Am Anfang war die Neugier: Wie bekommt man diese 'Oval Link Earrings' von MARIA BLACK durch gepiercte Ohren? Die Antwort ist ernüchternd: So wie alle anderen auch, denn am vorderen Teil ist ein kleiner Stecker dran den man durch ein Loch auf dem hinteren Teil steckt und somit fixiert. Keine Hexerei!
Nach der Neugier kam die Liebe (okay, ich gebe zu, die war auch schon im Neugier-Stadion mit an Board). Ich mag goldene Statement-Ohrringe zur Zeit sehr. Ich finde sie zudem sehr praktisch, weil sie selbst das schlichteste Outfit im Handumdrehen aufwerten und - im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes - ein wenig Glanz verleihen. Man fühlt sich mit großen Ohrringen einfach gleich gestylter. 
Die vergoldeten Ohrringe aus 925 Silber gibt es übrigens in gold poliert, gold matt und rosegold. Hinweis: Die Ohrringe werden einzeln und nicht als Paar verkauft!

FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH

I turn 38 in a month, which was reason enough for me to look for a new range of anti-aging face care products. Basically I got some good genes that don't make me look like 38, but a little support never hurts. I chose the DIOR series with the promising name "Capture Youth", because that's exactly what I want. The "Age Delay Cream" and "Redness Soother" have moved in with me (together with the "Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub", to which I owe my ever-soft lips), because the products aim to preserve the youthfulness of the skin instead of reversing the signs of time. Thanks to its high content of iris with antioxidant action and plant cross-linking, the cream reactivates the internal resistance process of the epidermis every day and at the same time ensures immediate smoothing. The perfect complement to this are the sera from DIOR from the series, in my case the "Redness Soother". Perfect for sensitive skin, this serum contains a blend of protective cotton peptides of natural origin to instantly soothe and smooth the skin. Iris is also one of the main components of serum. 
I have been using the serum and cream for a good 1.5 months now. My skin looks relaxed, fresh and even and feels soft and above all well hydrated. In my personal experience, I can recommend the series to you (it also smells incredibly good), but of course it is clear that each skin is individual and you need a different serum from the series, for example.

In einem Monat werde ich 38. Das war für mich Grund genug nach einer neuen Anti-Aging-Gesichtspflegeserie Ausschau zu halten. Grunsätzlich habe ich ganz gute Gene mitbekommen, die mich nicht wie 38 aussehen lassen, aber ein bisschen Support schadet doch nie. Meine Wahl ist auf die DIOR-Serie mit dem vielversprechenden Namen "Capture Youth" gefallen, denn genau das ist es was ich möchte. Die "Age Delay Cream" und der "Redness Soother" sind bei mir eingezogen (samt dem "Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub", dem ich meine seither immer weichen Lippen verdanke), denn die Produkte zielen darauf ab, die Jugendlichkeit der Haut  zu bewahren, anstatt die Zeichen der Zeit rückgängig zu machen. Die Creme fördert Dank eines hohen Gehalts an Iris mit antioxidativer Wirkung und einer pflanzlichen Vernetzung jeden Tag die Neuaktivierung des internen Widerstandsprozesses der Epidermis und sorgt gleichzeitig für eine umgehende Glättung. Die perfekte Ergänzung dazu sind die Seren von DIOR aus der Serie, in meinem Fall eben der "Redness Soother". Als perfekte Pflege für empfindliche Haut enthält dieses Serum eine Mischung aus schützenden Baumwollpeptiden natürlichen Ursprungs, um die Haut umgehend zu beruhigen und ihr Ebenmäßigkeit zu schenken. Auch im Serum ist Iris einer der Hauptbestandteile. 
Ich verwende das Serum und die Creme nun seit gut 1,5 Monaten. Meine Haut sieht entspannt, frisch und ebenmäßig aus und fühlt sich weich und vor allem gut hydriert an. Nach meiner persönlichen Erfahrung kann ich euch die Serie sehr ans Herz legen (sie riecht ausserdem unglaublich gut), aber natürlich ist klar, dass jede Haut individuell ist und ihr zum Beispiel ein anderes Serum der Serie benötigt. 

THINGS TIP: SALAD JUNGLE

Finally! Vienna has a salad bar. And no, I'm not talking about the rather unappetizing ones that can be found in various supermarkets. I'm talking about SALAD JUNGLE, a delightful little salad bar on Biberstrasse in the 1st district. There are five daily changing (mostly already marinated) salads that you can put together yourself as you like - for a fixed price of only €6,80,- for a bowl that is so big that I was completely full until dinner. And the taste? I could not tell which salad tasted best to me. Everyone was - for me - well marinated and had perfectly harmonizing ingredients. Be sure to drop by when you're around. Your palate will thank you!

Endlich! Wien hat eine Salatbar. Und nein, ich spreche nicht von den eher Unapptetilichen, die in div. Supermärkten zu finden sind. Ich spreche vom SALAD JUNGLE, einer entzückenden, kleinen Salatbar in der Biberstraße im 1. Bezirk. Es gibt dort fünf täglich wechselnde (meist schon marinierte) Salate, die man sich nach Lust & Laune selbst zusammenstellen kann - und das zu einem Fixpreis von nur €6,80,- für eine Schale, die so groß ist, dass ich bis zum Abendessen vollkommen satt war. Und der Geschmack? Über den lässt sich angeblich streiten. In diesem Fall aber definitiv nicht, ich könnte gar nicht sagen welcher Salat mir am besten geschmeckt hat. Jeder war - für mich - ausgewogen mariniert und hatte perfekt miteinander harmonierende Igredentien. Schaut unbedingt vorbei, wenn ihr in der Nähe seid. Euer Gaumen wird es euch danken!

MY WEDDING MAKEUP BY BOBBI BROWN

So there they were, all the questions that keep you busy in the time of wedding preparations: Where do we want to get married? Who do I want to celebrate this day with? What should the printed materials look like? And how the decoration on site? ... And then there were the questions "Who will do my hair because I'm marrying my hairdresser? (Spoiler: He (propaganda-haare.com) did... But it took me quite a long time to get used to the idea) and who will do my make-up? The second question was easy to answer. After wearing natural makeup in everyday life where BOBBI BROWN exactly fulfills my requirements, I also wanted a natural, type-appropriate make-up for my wedding... just a little more beautiful and professional.

Da waren sie also all die Fragen, die einem in der Zeit der Hochzeitsvorbereitungen auf Trab halten: Wo möchten wir heiraten? Mit wem möchte ich diesen Tag gemeinsam feiern? Wie sollen die Drucksorten aussehen? Und wie die Deko vor Ort? ... Und dann waren da noch die Fragen "Wer macht mir meine Haare, nachdem ich meinen Frisör heirate? (Spoiler: Er (propaganda-haare.com) hat sie mir gemacht... ich habe allerdings ganz schön lange gebraucht, bis ich mich mit dem Gedanken anfreunden konnte.) und wer macht mein Make-up? Die zweite Frage war einfach zu beantworten. Nachdem ich im Alltag auf natürliches Make-up schwöre und BOBBI BROWN hier genau meine Anforderungen erfüllt, wollte ich auch bei meiner Hochzeit ein natürliches, typgerechtes Make-up... nur eben ein bisschen schöner und professioneller gemacht.

BOBBI BROWN verfügt über ein internationales Artist-Pool und ist zudem eine Amerikanische Brand - war also klar, dass ich meine Anfrage hinsichtlich Make-up Artist für meine Hochzeit in Kalifornien einfach mal an BOBBI BROWN stelle. Mit Erfolg! 

I got the trial makeup in the store in Vienna, where the final look and the products used for it were entered into a stylesheet, which was then sent to Samantha, the make-up artist in California. Even though I didn't know Samantha and her work before, I always had a deep confidence that nothing could go wrong. Rightly so. Samantha came to the hotel on the wedding day, was well prepared, incredibly sympathetic and did the perfect makeup for me within only one hour.

Das Probe-Make-up habe ich im Store in Wien bekommen, wo der finale Look und die dafür verwendeten Produkte in ein Stylesheet eingetragen wurden, das dann Samantha, der Make-up-Artistin in Kalifornien, übermittelt wurde. Auch wenn ich Samantha und ihre Arbeit davor noch nicht kannte, hatte ich die ganze Zeit über das tiefe Vertrauen, dass beim Make-up nichts schief laufen kann. Zu Recht. Samantha kam am Hochzeitstag ins Hotel, war bestens vorbereitet, unheimlich symphatisch und hat mir innerhalb nur einer Stunde das für mich perfekte Make-up gemacht.

IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY

I already knew in winter that the GAIA'S ARK BAG (small) by CULT GAIA would be my companion in spring and summer this year. 

So I accepted a very good Christmas offer from CULT GAIA and had the bag sent to my friend Ava in L.A., because I was planning a trip to Los Angeles for of my wedding (and so I could avoid the customs issue). 

It was just that my friend got her son in January and understandably had other things in mind than my bag. I never asked if the bag arrived because I didn't want to bother her with such little things (and I was sure it arrived)...until February when I dropped the question. As her reaction was "Oh, crap! That was your bag! I didn't have that on the radar," I knew there will be something exciting coming. 

The following happened: Ava was still at the hospital when the GAIA'S ARK BAG was delivered to her home. Her husband didn't recognize it as a bag and thought it was something for the baby and asked Ava if it was for her. She said, no, she didn't order such a fancy bag and she certainly won't get it as a present. She told her husband to ask their neighbor Camille Rowe (note: the model) if the bag belongs to her because things for Camille were delivered to Ava's place every now and then. No sooner said than done. Camille Rowe accepted the bag in the belief it was a PR sample for her.

Well, the mission then was to reclaim Katja's bag, which wouldn't have been so difficult if Camille Rowe hadn't moved in with Harry Styles of One Direction on the other side of L.A. in the meantime. After a few days Ava was able to reach Camille and of course, she returned the bag with an apology. 

To sum this story up: My GAIA'S ARK BAG lived with Camille Row & Harry Styles for 2 months, which makes it kind of special to me since it comes with this funny anecdote. What do you say?

Ich wusste bereits im Winter, dass die GAIA'S ARK BAG (Größe small) von CULT GAIA meine Begleiterin im Frühling und Sommer werden würde. 

Ich habe daher ein ganz gutes Weihnachts-Angebot von CULT GAIA angenommen und die Tasche zu meiner Freundin nach L.A. schicken lassen, weil aufgrund meiner Hochzeit ja ein Trip nach Los Angeles am Plan stand (und ich so die Zollthematik umgehen konnte). 

Es war dann nur so, dass meine Freundin im Jänner ihren Sohn bekommen hat und da verständlicherweise ganz andere Dinge im Kopf hatte, als meine Tasche. Ich habe sie nie gefragt, ob sie denn angekommen ist, weil ich sie nicht mit solchen Kleinigkeiten belästigen wollte...bis Februar, wo ich dann die Frage dann mal gedropt habe. Als ihre Reaktion "Oh Mist! Das war Deine Tasche! Ich hatte das nicht am Radar" war, wusste ich, dass es spannend wird. 

Folgendes hat sich zugetragen: Meine Freundin Ava war  gerade im Krankenhaus, als die GAIA'S ARK BAG geliefert wurde. Ihr Mann, konnte damit nichts anfangen und dachte es wäre etwas für's Baby und hat Ava gefragt, ob das wohl für sie ist. Sie meinte, nein, so eine fancy Tasche hat sie nicht bestellt bzw. bekommt sie soetwas sicherlich nicht geschenkt, daher soll doch mal die Nachbarin Camille Rowe  (Anmerkung: Das Model) fragen, ob sie nicht ihr gehört, weil des öfteren Sachen für Camille bei Ava abgegeben werden. Gesagt getan. Camille Rowe hat die Tasche im Glauben, es sein PR-Sample für sie, angenommen.

Die Mission hat dann also gelautet: Katja's Tasche zurückerobern, was an sich nicht so schwierig gewesen wäre, wäre Camille Rowe nicht in der Zwischenzeit an's andere Ende von L.A. zu Harry Styles von One Direction gezogen. Nach einigen Tagen konnte Ava Camille erreichen, die Tasche dann natürlich mit einer Entschuldigung retourniert hat. 

Zusammenfassend lässt sich also sagen: Meine GAIA'S ARK BAG hat 2 Monate bei Camille Row & Harry Styles gewohnt, was ich schon als ganz lustige Anekdote empfinden. Was sagt ihr dazu?
