Die Knotted Rope Bowl ist mehr Skulptur als Gebrauchsgegenstand. Sie spielt mit der Divergenz zwischen dem Aggregatszustandes des augenscheinlichen Materials (Seil - weich) und dem wirklichen Material (Marmor, Kunstharz - fest, starr). Die Haptik des Seiles ist so perfekt dargestellt, dass man kaum glauben kann, dass die Schale nicht wirklich aus einem Seil, sondern aus Marmor und Kunstharz besteht. Eine perfekte Täuschung, bei der man sich gerne mal die Augen reibt.

The 'Knotted Rope Bowl' is more of a sculpture than it is an implement. It plays with the divergence of aggregate phase of the obvious materials (rope - soft) and the real material (marble, synthetic resin - hard, rigid). The haptic of the rope is so detailed you can hardly believe that it isn't an actual rope. A perfect deception.
